Rueda Switch

Welcome to 7 weeks of rueda switch, where we constantly switch dynamically between having the role of leading and following.

What is important for this type of rueda is that you must be able to both lead and follow in advance in order to participate in the course. You don't need to know Rueda switch from before, but you must be able to dance at least a very simple rueda in both roles, with guapea and simple characters such as dile que no, dame una, enchufla and dame una arriba.

There are several different ways to change partners in the switch concept, in addition to 'switch', which has different names such as corto, guapo and cierra. We will learn and dance these ways of switching as well during this course.

Otherwise, you are expected to be an experienced casino and rueda dancer to participate in this course, with a large repertoire of rueda figures, and have some experience with quick transitions between figures, without falling out of the flow in the ring.

You must be prepared to work on this also at a high pace. It is an advantage if you are able to learn new things relatively quickly, and can work a little on your own to refresh and remember what we learn, so that we get good progression in the group.

In order to have a good progression through the course, it is important that you as a participant are with the entire course. Absence due to illness is of course okay (notified in the closed Facebook group SalsaNor Oslo - course participants (closed)), but if you miss two or more course evenings, it will be difficult to be able to follow the rest of the course.

NB! The first evening at a new level is always a trial class for newcomers, where you assess whether you have the foundation necessary to follow the course and with mastery and the joy of dancing. Those who are recommended to follow the rueda course at an advanced level, will be notified of this either immediately after the trial class, or by e-mail by the end of the following day.
